This mode of appointing Permanent Resident (PR) Status is a two-way road, which helps the economy of the country and also lucratively helps the immigrants. The scrutiny of the candidature is based on the point basis of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and the eligible candidates are allotted a PR Status.

The Permanent Residency (PR) Status of the Canadian Government is sought by two pathways – Express Entry Program and Provincial Nominee Program(PNP). The PR Status in both the cases is provided for five years and it is a family visa. With the PR Status immigrant is allotted with rights and freedom equal to the full Canadian citizen. While Express Entry allocates the right to settle anywhere in the country, the PNP grants the PR status for a particular province only.
